A QUICK RECAP:

The Filmmaker Challenge is your passport to becoming a Nomad Filmmaker through a comprehensive 4-phase program over 3 months, including a 1-week all-inclusive in Costa Rica.

Phase 1: Online Course (Remotely)

  • You will get access to an online course covering all the technical aspects of filmmaking, from what gear to use to manual camera settings and professional editing.

  • The online course takes 2-weeks to do and will be the foundation for phase 2 of the Filmmaker Challenge.

Phase 2: The Event (Join us abroad)

  • You can meet us in Tulum or Costa Rica for a week of full-time filming at the Selina.

  • This year, we are going to reveal the exact schedule on location for the Filmmaker Challenge, but to give you an idea, last year, the activities were:

    • Private Yacht in Miami

    • Hot Air Ballon in Morocco

    • Jeep in the rainforest

    • Doors Off Helicopter tour

    • Pirate boat island hopping in Brazil

  • This will be a jam-packed schedule; we wake up early and work hard all week to make sure you capture the most amazing footage for phase 3.

Phase 3: Business Training (Remotely)

  • After the event, we will have weekly calls to build your Nomad Filmmaking business from the ground up!

  • You will receive a website, a message to send to brands, a budget calculator, a pitch template and more.

Phase 4: Brand Deal

  • Complete the challenge and secure your first brand deal with Selina, allowing you to travel and create content at over 130 locations worldwide.

By the end of the Filmmaker Challenge, you will:

  • Know how to get paid by travel brands to make videos.

  • Know how to do the pre-planning of a video production for travel brands.

  • Know how to use your camera or phone to its fullest potential.

  • You will know how to bring your story to life with advanced editing.

  • You will join the exclusive Content Creator program by Selina. (Stay for free at hotels)

  • You will join the Filmmaker Challenge alumni private group to collaborate across the globe.
